Zarina Karapetyan · Second Nature I
$950
Description
Second Nature I depicts a black-and-white butterfly wing with subtle shifts of color emerging through an otherwise muted image. The wing floats within the darkness of space and time, creating a sense of movement and suspension. The painting is intentionally loose in its brushwork. It is one of the roughest and most open works in the Soft Gravity collection, allowing the material and the movement of the paint to remain visible. Rather than being tightly controlled, the surface leaves room for the viewer to sense something within the material itself, an energy or spirit that can be felt without needing to be fully defined. The work considers the importance of allowing that openness into life: sometimes we need space to move freely, without everything being resolved or contained.
